Some very interesting numbers.

Posted by Kevin Mazur on February 22, 2007 at 10:09 AM

There is a great article on the Sellsius Real Estate Blog today entitled "Why The Internet Buyer Is The Perfect Client".

The article uses numbers from the California Association of Realtors "2006 Internet vs. Traditional Buyers Survey - Highlights" publication. The article and the publication are well worth the time to read and are very informative.

Some of the highlights are:

  • IB spend 2.2 weeks, on average, with their agent before buying, while the non-internet buyer (so called traditional buyer) spent 7.1 weeks with their agents.
  • IB previewed 6.7 homes while the traditional buyer previewed a whopping 15.4
  • 81% of IB stay with the first agent they choose to contact

I would be very interested in hearing any experiences that you have had. Have you found internet buyers fit this mold? Are you an internet buyer and agree with these numbers?

Looks like we're ahead of the curve! Are you?

Posted by Kevin Mazur on February 19, 2007 at 03:47 PM

Found this article today. Seems that Real Estate Blogging is one of the next BIG trends in the industry.

Particularly interesting is line, "In a recent survey done by Blogging Systems, a leading real estate blogging service 68% of real estate agents said they would be focusing on blogs as a marketing tool in 2007!"

This just goes to show what a powerful medium that blogging is.

Robert Scoble and Joel Buslem (Future of Real Estate Marketing) have also picked up on this.

So, do you plan on starting a blog this year?

An interesting take on Home Selling

Posted by Kevin Mazur on February 13, 2007 at 03:24 PM

Johathan Greene of the Tampa Area Real Estate Blog: Real Opinionated, has a very interesting post about home selling and ninjas.

Yeah I know, those two normally just don't go together, but take a few minutes and give it a read. It has some helpful information for sellers and agents.

I especially like the line, Confucius Say: 'Don't Use Cannon to Kill Dragonfly'!

Real Estate Blogs - Changing Everything!

Posted by Kevin Mazur on February 13, 2007 at 11:15 AM

There is a very interesting article on CNNMoney.com today about Real Estate Blogging.

The article only covers the surface but does a decent job of introducing the concept to consumers.

My favorite line from the article is:

"A lot of people recognize that the industry is changing," he said. "The era when almost all of the information was controlled by one side is going the way of the dodo."

This statement could not be more true. Consumers are becoming more and more savvy and have more information then ever before. The internet has leveled the playing field when it comes to information. It is for this reason that Real Estate agents need to set themselves apart thru Exceptional Service.

Real Estate is no longer about 'Selling Houses'. It is about 'Delivering a World Class Experience...One Client at a Time!'

What do you think? How have blogs and the internet changed things for you?

Some Insurance Facts

Posted by Kevin Mazur on February 2, 2007 at 02:16 PM

Below are some Insurance facts provided by Senator Mike Fasano.

According to Senator Fasano, West Pasco could see insurance rates drop by as much as 50% as offered by Citizens Insurance.

What do you think? Will these new rules and regulations help the market? Will other areas see a decrease in rates?
